My order didn't go thrhoug but I see a pending charge.
If you notice a pending charge from iFixit after a payment was declined or an order couldn’t be completed, these are likely preauthorizations initiated by your bank, card issuer or payment service, like PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay or Amazon Pay.
iFixit is not able release or remove these holds, as they are managed entirely by your payment provider, but they usually resolve automatically. Learn more here: Learn more here: Authorization hold
What’s happening:
- When you attempt to place an order with a credit card or a service like PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay or Amazon Pay, your bank or payment provider may place a temporary hold for the amount before the transaction is complete. If checkout isn’t finalized or the order fails, this hold will not be captured as a charge.
How long does it last:
- Preauthorizations are temporary and typically drop off automatically within about 7 business days. This can vary depending on the policies of your bank, card issuer or payment service.
What you should do:
- No action is needed on your end, as these holds will disappear on their own. If the pending charge hasn’t cleared after 7 business days, or if you would like to know why the funds were held in the first place, please contact your bank, card issuer, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, or Amazon Pay directly for details.
