Can the cap on my driver be reattached?
Mahi ¼" Drivers
The ¼" Mahi Driver Handle (the large driver in the Mahi and Manta kits) is not repairable if the cap comes off. Because of its construction, there is no way to reattach or fix the cap on a Mahi driver. If your ¼" Mahi Driver Handle is defective or damaged, you can request a replacement through our Toolkit Guarantee form.
4 mm Precision Bit Drivers
The 4 mm Precision Bit Drivers (smaller drivers found in the Mako, Moray, Manta, Minnow, Pro Tech, and Essential Electronics kits) can sometimes have their caps reattached. If the cap falls off a 4 mm Precision Bit Driver, you can follow this repair guide: How to Reattach the Cap on an iFixit Precision Bit Driver
Not sure which one you have?
- The ¼" Mahi Driver Handle is the larger driver with a smooth blue cap. Its cap cannot be repaired or reattached.
- The 4 mm Precision Bit Driver is the smaller driver with a ridge on the blue cap. Its cap can sometimes be reattached using the guide above.
